  • Mixed Up Mama…

When I was a kid I loved to write… I had a whole book full of poems and always thought that one day I would be an author or a journalist or something like that. BUT, once I moved out of my childhood neighborhood, I guess you could say I lost direction and it was all down hill from there.

I am middle-aged now and I have a husband and two daughters whom I LOVE more than anything in this world and a job I could take or leave depending on the day. But lately I just feel like I want to more out of life. We are your typical middle class paycheck to paycheck family. I guess I should just consider myself lucky to have a job, right? Shouldn’t we all just be grateful if we have a job?

I sit in my car for about two hours a day commuting and I’ve gotten really into listening to podcasts. I have come to REALLY admire women who are killing it in as their own bosses. I think how cool must that be to have something you’re passionate about and turn it into a business? But then I just start feeling crappy about my complete lack of direction in life, or the feeling that it’s dumb to think I would have anything of interest to say.

There are two women though that I think have had a big effect on me in recent history. Oonagh Duncan and Mel Robbins. The former has a company called FitFeelsGood. I listened to her audiobook Healthy as Fuck a couple of years ago and was instantly hooked. She is totally relatable and coming across her content online has definitely had a positive impact on my life. I did her 28 day Transformation and lost 18 lbs. I’ve been overweight since I had my kids and that was the first time I had made any real progress in the right direction. I couldn’t afford to do her year long program but I continue to do her workouts that I saved (not consistently but trying) and still make some of the delicious recipes from her program. I also listen to her podcast, Goals, Grit and some Woo Woo Shit which is also great for motivation. And now Mel Robbins! I just finished her audio The Let Theory and WOW, just WOW… She made me believe that anything is possible. I started her podcast as well!

So here I am, possibly starting the Seinfeld of Websites. A Blog about nothing? Or Maybe a blog about everything… I’m not quite sure yet…

I am a Mom with a full -time job who also loves TV and Movies and Podcasts AND General Hospital.. yes, I know that’s TV too… and as I sit here typing this, I think I might have something to say about ALL of those things…
